Welcome to the forum!
I created this forum after noticing that there didn't seem to be anywhere for Baltimora fans to get together and discuss this great music.
My long term plan is to expand this into a fully fledged website, but the success of this all depends on how many people contribute to this board!
So get posting, and tell all your friends (those who like Baltimora anyway) about this site!
Cheers,
- Tarzan Boy

I recently found an extended version of Tarzan Boy on Windows media player. It was about 65 minutes long. It has been removed. Could anyone email me at phyder2@hotmail.com if you have any info. Thanks

Thanks so much, administrator! I have been a huge fan of Baltimora for about a year now, and although there's so frustratingly little about Jimmy/Baltimora available online, I guess all my searching paid off sort of. I feel like a detective, hah. I really hope this can become a complete website one day if enough fans are able to get together. My url is myspace.com/acidwashhh, for baltimora networking purposes

I´m from Denmark and I would also like to thank you for making this site I did listen to Baltimora and other italo disco back in the 80`s, then I began to listen more to rock and punk. Then about 2 years ago I started to listen to the music from the 80`s again. And now I have bought the 2 albums from Baltimora on cd, and I think, that it is some of the best music ever made. My favorit is Woody Boogie, my sons first words( he has just turned 1 year) was actualy Woody Boogie, because my wife and I was singing it all the time.

This is fantastic! I thought I was one of the few people who knew about Baltimora. I don't know if words can descibe my interest in their music, they just hit to the center of my soul, which is strange, considering I never feel this way about other groups/types of music. My favorite song is of course, Tarzan Boy, with Chinese Restaurant a close second.

Hi from Japan, I also have loved Baltimora music since I first heard it at discos in Tokyo at age 20. Italo disco on the whole was loved here back then and I used to dance to it! The other day, I managed to buy its Italian rare CD named Living In The Background, on which Tarzan Boy's melodious Summer Version is the best for me. I am happy to listen to the songs for the first time in more than 20 years. I really appreciate the existance of this forum in commemoration of Baltimora.

Hello!! My name is Sharon and I can't tell you how in wonder I am of finding this site! My story is; In the 90's I just happened to see the Listerine commercial probally 2 times. I remember the music resonating profoundly with me. I never saw the commercial again or ever heard the song on the radio, ever, but I never forgot that haunting refrain. Just one week ago, on an easy listening station in my car I heard the song. The station gave the record title and artist and I almost wrecked writing down Tarzan Boy by Baltimora. When I came home I went to my computer and saw that I not only could listen to the song but see a video as well. I was hypnotized by the song and the singer Jimmy McShane. Then It broke my heart to find he had died. But I knew from the video that he was gay. And how incredibly sad that he died alone and penniless. Weather he sang or not he could have a big star!
I think he and that song are archetypal.

It took me some time to track down the song, Tarzan Boy. I remember it vaguely in 86. But that Listerine commercial did it a great service. It' not on Itunes but the album is. Tarzan Boy gets my vote for the iconic pop song of the eighties. I never saw the video until tonight, after I read the bios on wikipedia. What's Bassi doing now? He wrote and sang it.
RIP Jimmy, your performance is top notch.

Hi guys, nice forum. I think i'm the luckiest here cause i used to hang out with him! He used to live in italy (like me, obviously, and sorry for my english). I remember jimmy for his strange italian with irish accent, really funny for me (for all of us really) First time i've seen him @ one of the first italian after hours, 1989/1990 (place's name was Ranch located in Cà Noghera, Italy... transformed in Casino di Venezia now!!!) During the first years of the 90ties he was vocalist for DJ parties @ wattabee (Treviso, Italy), @ La Scala (Padova, Italy) and others places. He moved to ireland some year later, when he discovered his HIV positivity. In 1994 no retroviral medications was available for AIDS... that time some month was enough for die I'll be pleasured to be contacted myspace.com/carlonatale
